CLOSE finishes were the order of the day in Division Two of the Mewies Solicitors Craven League but that wasn't the case at Westfield Lane, where Ingrow St John's II were facing leaders Hepworth & Idle.

Saints were back in the hut for 63, the Bradford club reaching their modest target for the loss of two wickets.

Wilsden are up to second after thrashing Glusburn by 174 runs at Windy Grove.

The hosts were 52-5 but recovered to 217-9 thanks to No 7 Sam Mitchell (85) and Rafaquat Mehmood (46no), Bryan Hollis doing the early damage with 4-74.

Sam Mitchell then took 5-19 and Chris Mitchell 3-15 as the Park Field side slumped to 43 all out, with only skipper Steve Brown (28) offering much resistance.

Third-placed Haworth Road II beat Airedale by five runs at Baildon Bottom, Saqid Javaid claiming 5-31 in the hosts' 161-9.

The Bradford Road side were 121-4 before collapsing to 156 all out, of which Mathew Cox made 48.

There was another close finish at Ingrow, where Mark Price made 27 as the Hainworth side posted 101.

Ribble Valley visitors Chatburn were then dismissed for 94, with Dan Scott taking 4-24 and Aaron Pearce 4-49.

Barrowford cracked 253-8 at the Bull Holme, Oakworth II making 119 in reply, with Lewis Wrathall top-scoring with 46.

After a barren start to the season, Bradley won for the second week running.

They entertained Thornton and Vince Grant took 5-31 and James Heseltine 4-31 as the west Craveners were dismissed for 144, the Matthew Lane side getting home by one wicket, thanks mainly to Neil Andrews (77).

Division Three leaders Long Lee made 148 at Golden View, with Richard Ayrton top scoring with 38.

Visitors Eldwick & Gilstead replied with 125, being undone by the evergreen Jamie Robinson (6-19) as Chris Child made 47.

Sandy Lane are second, beating visitors Denholme II by 115 runs.

The Greenwood Park side made 186-7, with Zahir Shah making 45 not out and Ali Chaudrhy 45, but the Keighley Road side could only score 71 after tea as Ashfaq Ali took 3-1 in one over and Farhan Khalid 3-24.

Cononley are third after a quick win at Riddlesden.

Matt Phillips (4-11) and Lewie Fitton (3-11) had the Grange Road side back in the hut for 76, Andrew Starkey (45no) seeing the south Craveners to a fine nine-wicket win.

Bingley Congs II beat visitors Crossflatts II by four wickets, while Bradford & Bingley III were dismissed for 42 at Aire View on their way to a 59-run defeat against Skipton CI.
