A KEIGHLEY governor is being sought to help shape future health care in Bradford.

Seven seats on the Bradford Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust council of governors will become vacant in December.

The positions include a public governor for Keighley.

Jacqui Maurice, the trust's corporate governance manager, said: "Our governors play a vital role in representing the views of local people, patients and staff as well as our associated health and council partners when important decisions are made about our hospitals.

"They work with the board of directors to understand what our staff, patients and the public think about our services and direction of travel.

"Governors also have important statutory duties and responsibilities.

"People do not need any specific qualifications, but it is a role that does require a certain level of commitment to attend meetings and events and to take part in discussions."

Nomination packs, with information about how to stand for election, are available from Ciara Norris on Ciara.norris@electoralreform.co.uk or 0208 889 9203.
