PARISH councillors in Oxenhope were updated on work carried out to publicise an important public meeting to help shape the village's future.
The event this Saturday (October 1) will be held at 2pm in Oxenhope Methodist Church, West Drive, and will begin the process of putting together a Neighbourhood Development Plan for the parish.
Once complete this document should give local people a much greater say in what kind of new developments can be built in Oxenhope in future and where they are located.
Oxenhope Parish Council has already confirmed that nearly £5,000 worth of funding has been received to cover the first six months of costs involved in starting work on the plan.
Addressing councillors at their latest full meeting earlier this month, (Sept) Cllr Peter McManus said he hoped for a full room on October 1.
"We're publicising the meeting via posters around Oxenhope and I'm trying to encourage young people to attend," he added.
