PUPILS at Oakworth Primary School have shown they're all heart.

They baked and sold buns, cakes and biscuits in aid of the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

And their efforts raised £130 for the charity.

The idea was initiated by Caitlin Hakes, whose family has experienced heart problems.

She and friends Sophie Pedlar and Maisie Brown, with some other pupils, organised the event.

Posters advertising the break-time sales were produced and a newsletter distributed.

Caitlin said: "We wanted to get involved because I think the charity does great work.

"We are so pleased we raised £130.

"It was great fun to organise and we would like to thank everyone who supported us."

The pupils were thanked by BHF West Yorkshire fundraising manager, Sue Green.

"We never cease to be amazed by the extraordinary ways people like the children at Oakworth Primary School fundraise for the charity," she said.

"Every contribution, big or small, plays a crucial part in each breakthrough we make so we are incredibly grateful for the support."

She urges others to consider staging fundraising events.
