VOLUNTEERS from a charity which helps the homeless and needy conquered the highest mountain in Wales to raise money.

The Curry Circle team coined-in over £3,000 with its sponsored Snowdon challenge.

Funds will go towards the charity's work providing hot two-course meals to those in need in Keighley and Bradford.

Curry Circle manager Adam Raja, who led the climb, said: "Each person who completed the challenge raised enough money to feed 100 people.

"Everyone who took part did a fantastic job and I am really proud of them."

Youngest group member was Sobaan Aamir, 12, who said: "I loved climbing Snowdon again after my first visit last year.

"The weather was on our side and I was really happy that I got to the summit first!"

First-time climber Jenny Mundy said: "I absolutely loved every minute of the challenge.

"It was an awesome day, although I definitely need to train for the next one!"

Since its launch in December, 2013, the Curry Circle has provided over 19,000 meals.

Its support also includes free medical treatment provided by Bevan Healthcare and backing from the Samaritans.
