A KEIGHLEY business which was among the hardest hit by last year's Boxing Day floods will finally be able to stage its official re-opening next week.

Bump and Babes, in Bradford Road, Stockbridge, was swamped by filthy water late last year, losing tens of thousands of pounds worth of stock and sustaining severe damage to its building near the River Aire.

The business will be re-opening its doors at 10am next Thursday (August 25) after a massive clean-up, repair and refit job.

Sales advisor Alison Field, who has worked at the baby and toddler clothing and equipment store for more than 18 years, said she and her colleagues were hugely relieved to be nearly back in business.

"It has taken us eight months to get back on our feet," she explained. "We're not quite finished yet but we are getting there. We are now just getting all the stock in.

"We've had fans and de-humidifiers in, the walls re-plastered and re-painted, re-wiring work, new carpet and a new counter."

She said the store was keen for as many of its customers as possible to know that it is about to return.

The business has invited Keighley town mayor Councillor Shabir Ahmed to attend its grand re-opening.
