ORGANISERS are under starter's orders for annual harness racing in aid of Manorlands.
The popular event, which features several races including a final, takes place on August 7.
There will be an on-site bookmakers and other attractions at the showfield in Haworth Road, Cullingworth, will include a licensed bar.
Since the harness racing – organised by the Bronte Vintage Gathering (BVG) group – was first held 16 years ago, it has raised tens of thousands of pounds for the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.
Last year's event coined-in £3,420.
The organising team is still buoyant after the BVG itself, staged in May, raised a record £29,000 for Manorlands.
The figure was almost double last year's total.
Spokesman Trish Wood said: "We had a fantastic weekend weather-wise and an incredible atmosphere – with thousands of visitors, so I was hopeful of a good result.
"But I didn't dream for one moment we would raise such an astonishing amount."
The line-up in the arena included a sheep show, Xtreme Stunt Team, terrier racing, a dog agility show and SMJ Falconry.
There was also hands-on entertainment and other attractions across the showground.
