KEIGHLEY district residents diagnosed with Parkinson's don't have to face the condition alone.

That's the message from the Bradford and Airedale advisor for charity Parkinson's UK, Louise Smith.

"Every hour, someone in the UK is told they have Parkinson's, but at the moment there is no cure," she said.

"We know that having the condition or being newly diagnosed can be challenging. But we can offer the expert advice, support and local information to help you and your family at every stage – from newly diagnosed to starting to deal with more complex symptoms."

One in 500 people across Airedale have Parkinson's, a degenerative neurological condition that can leave people struggling to walk, speak and sleep.
