RED HOT entertainment is promised at the latest burlesque night Keighley as internationally-renowned Ginger La Rouge headlines.

The redhead is famed for an act involving a six-foot champagne glass that evokes the atmosphere of old-time Hollywood.

Keighley woman and event organiser Bobbie Dazzler, who will perform some of her own burlesque routines, said Manchester woman Ginger was well-known at home and abroad.

Bobbie said: “She is known for her costuming and uber glam performances that she manages to get a brilliant comedic twist into!”

Ginger’s champagne glass routine is described as an iconic and classic burlesque act, highlighting decadence and glamour with a costume of glittering gold gown and furs.

A review of her performance at the Lowry in Manchester, described Ginger's act as the “title sequence of a Bond movie happening right in front of your eyes".

Cabaret Roulette magazine said: “The joyous thing about Ginger La Rouge is that you genuinely don't know what you're going to get: from the classically elegant to the sublimely ridiculous and everything in between, all fantastic and entertaining as heck."

Ginger co-founded North West Burlesque in 2010, a company which provides entertainment and burlesque hen party teachers across the North West.

The Keighley event on Saturday, July 30, entitled Showgirls And Sparkles, sees a return to the town by Bobbie and her fellow Northern burlesque stars.

Bobbie has held regular shows in Keighley for the past two years and has this time booked well-known burlesque compere Duke Wayward to host the show.

Bobby said the latest show would have a classic burlesque like Las Vegas but with a twist.

She said: “We have the beautifully glamorous Roxie Royale, who brings a fierceness to her performances, and Seamstress Sugar, who is known for her wonderful costuming and big band style performances.

“We have a beautiful performer with us all the way from France. Fifi Croissant has been wowing audiences up and down the country and has won several awards along the way!”

Keighley favourite Rock Hart, a male ‘boylesque’ performer, will debut his new act boasting 007 suave.

Tickets cost £12.50 in advance and are available emailing bobbiedazzler@yahoo.co.uk, or from Sequins Fancy Dress in High Street, ForTeas cafe at the corner of High Street and North Street, and Pilkys in Heber Street.

Bobbie added: “We do expect to sell out so buying tickets in advance is advised. There may be some tickets available on the door but they will be priced at £15.”
