THREE people escaped a Keighley house this afternoon after a frying pan caught fire.
Keighley firefighters were called to the house in Upper Hird Street, near Lund Park, at 2.15pm.
A Fire Service spokesman said a frying pan had been left unattended on a low heat, setting off a smoke alarm.
He said: “ The occupant was able to extinguish the fire, then called us. Three people were in the property, but they got themselves out safe and sound.”
“It was a small fire that damaged the oven extractor hood.”
Firefighters with breathing apparatus and a hose reel confirmed the kitchen was safe, and ventilated the house.
