A PATCHWORK elephant will be celebrated at Keighley Library on Saturday.
The library – and others across the district – is staging activities themed around Elmer the Patchwork Elephant, the classic children's book by David McKee.
There will be Elmer stories and crafts from 11am and a prize for the most brightly dressed child.
Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council's executive member for environment, sport and culture, said: "Elmer has been a popular children's book character for decades, but the message of the story – that it is alright to be different – is still significant today.
"These activities are a fun introduction to the story and will hopefully encourage more children to enjoy books."
