KEIGHLEY movie fans are being invited to take emotional rollercoaster New York this month.

Keighley Film Club is hosting the 12-certificate film Brooklyn at Keighley Picture House on February 21.

Soairse Ronan and Emory Cohen stars in a rich period drama that tugs at heartstrings while satisfying the mind, according to critics.

The independent film tells of a girl next door, contesting the emotional struggle between love and family, after she moves from 1950s Ireland to New York.

She lands a dream opportunity to work whilst living with other Irish girls in a boarding house run by Julie Walters.

She an Italian plumber and falls in love with him, but the idyll of their courtship gets shattered when she learns of a family tragedy which compels her to return to Ireland.

There she finds herself attracted to another man, and has to decide who to choose.

The film is at the North Street cinema on December 21 at 6pm.
