BRACKEN Bank's first ever 'Boosh' carnival-themed day has been such a success residents are already asking for another one next year.

The event, off Central Avenue on August 10, aimed to bring together residents of all ages, and about 350 people joined in the fun despite occasional heavy showers.

Attractions included a pop-up tea shop, circus-style games and activities such as painting large elephant models, a penalty shoot-out, pony rides, storytelling and stalls from local groups.

Staff from social landlord Incommunities and Bradford Council were also on hand to speak to residents.

Fundraisers present at the event included Ian Kelly, who underwent a Brave the Shave in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support.

Liz Parker, ward officer for Bradford Council, said: "The event had a great buzz – somewhere between a village fete and a mini-festival."

Community development worker, Pip Gibson, said: "Bracken Bank hosted a truly awesome festival of family fun.

"Many thanks to everyone who helped with the organising, for attending on the day and for helping support the many fundraising activities. Let's do it again next year!"
