A GROUP that runs a memory club in Keighley has received a funding boost.
The Memory Tree, which stages sessions for people with dementia, has been awarded just over £500 by the Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation.
The cash was to buy a projector and DVDs featuring archive footage from the community.
Dr Elizabeth Milwain – director of The Memory Tree, which also has clubs in Idle and Shipley – said: "Having the projector and DVDs has really added to our sessions and the quality of what we can offer.
"The DVDs are designed to stimulate and spark memories amongst people with dementia."
Last year, the Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation made 2,189 donations to good causes, totalling £464,000.
"The foundation is funded by our members and I know they would be proud that their small change was helping The Memory Tree," said Alison Alexis, for the society.
