MEMBERS of a Haworth-based Scout group have been presented with awards recognising their skill and commitment to the movement.

Megan Conway, from Ingrow, and Archie Wright, of Oxenhope, have received chief scout gold awards. They are both members of 14th Keighley (Haworth) Scouts.

The pair received their accolades at a presentation in front of parents at their group's AGM in Haworth Village Hall and Community Hub on July 15.

In order to meet the award's criteria they have successfully planned activities, used their own experience to help younger members and have set an example for the rest of the group.

Scout group leader Bev Dickinson said: "They have been part of Scouting since they were Beavers. They are quietly confident and always just get on with it. You can give them a task and you know they'll do it.

"They've worked hard and they have really earned these awards. Both of them are Queen's Scouts in the making, which is the highest Scouting award for youth."

14th Keighley (Haworth) Scouts meets in Haworth Village Hall and Community Hub on Wednesday evenings during term time.
