STAFF at a Cross Hills firm are stepping out in support of Manorlands after reading a Keighley News story about the hospice's need for funds.
Colleagues at the Mitchell Farrar Group are taking part in a walks challenge to raise cash for the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.
They are tackling a choice of five or ten-mile walks on July 12, starting and finishing at the company's Crossing Business Park premises.
Participants together aim to complete 200 miles and the firm has pledged to boost the fundraising pot by donating £1 for every mile walked.
The event is being staged following a KN story highlighting the fact Manorlands needs to raise an extra £200,000 this year just to maintain its services.
Denise Davies, the group's head of human resources, said: "We have fundraising events throughout the year and wherever possible aim to support local charities.
"The Sue Ryder hospice does a great job in providing essential care and support to those in need and touches the lives of many people in the community.
"We are hoping for great weather on the day of the walk and anyone who wishes to contribute can do so through virginmoneygiving.com/mfg200miles."
