A SCHOOL reunion raised £3,000 for charities including Manorlands.

Former students and staff of Holy Family in Keighley gathered for the event, at the town's Victoria Hall.

Proceeds have been split between the Oxenhope hospice and Dementia Friendly Keighley.

The reunion was organised by five ex-pupils, who are all celebrating their 50th birthdays this year together with the school itself.

Guest of honour was 88-year-old Eileen Ryan, widow of the hugely popular former Holy Family teacher and headmaster Danny Ryan.

She was accompanied by her son, Sean.

Entertainment was provided by China Sky, Keighley Liberal Club steward Tony Loftus, magician Jonathon Paul and DJ Mick Brill.

A large part of the funding was provided from the Steven Stiggy Allen Memorial Fund, by Judith Allen, who was a pupil at Holy Family with the event organisers.

Sonia Morgan, for the organising team said: "We are delighted with how the event went and that we raised so much for two great local causes.

"We are indebted to the help, hard work and generous donations of local businesses, ex-pupils, family and friends who helped make it all happen."

Andrew Wood, Manorlands-based Sue Ryder fundraiser for Keighley, said: "This was a great event and has made a real difference to the work of two worthy local causes."
