PEOPLE are being urged to say it with flowers at this year's Keighley Show.

Several flower-arranging classes on a musical theme – including Singing in the Rain, the Sound of Music, the Wizard of Oz and Joseph – are being staged.

Arrangements can be taken along before 9.30am on show day or may be assembled in the marquee the previous afternoon.

Anyone who prefers growing is invited to enter flowers, fruit or vegetables in the horticulture section.

"People shouldn't be put off by thinking their produce may not be good enough to exhibit – we want you to give it a go!" said show spokesman, Christine Highley.

"Anyone who is not an experienced grower or exhibitor can always enter our novice flower or vegetable classes. Exhibits in these sections are not judged to national standards and entries can be made up to 8.30am on show day. Stewards will be available to help people stage their exhibits."

The show, at Marley playing fields on September 5, also includes classes for children.

Youngsters can create a floral display depicting their favourite musical fairy tale, and in horticulture there are classes for a display of garden flowers in a jam jar and animals made from flower, fruit or plant material.
