PALLIATIVE care workers have this week set-up a new 'open office' in a Keighley Sue Ryder shop.

Vanessa French and Kim Reddyhoff will hold drop-in sessions at the Cavendish Street outlet.

The initiative – being staged jointly by Carers' Resource and Oxenhope hospice Manorlands – will offer one-to-one advice and guidance to patients facing end of life, plus their carers and families.

Sessions will be held from 10am to 1pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from the beginning of next month.

"Looking after someone with a terminal illness or facing end of life as an individual can be extremely traumatic and upsetting and we are here to help people every step of the way," said Vanessa.

"Each situation will be unique and we will work with people to ensure they are given the best advice and support to achieve quality of life."

Leaflets will also be available about the range of services offered by Carers' Resource and Sue Ryder and a locked postbox will be provided for the public to leave referrals.
