A COUNCIL department responsible for museums including Cliffe Castle in Keighley has struck gold.
Bradford Council's Museums and Galleries has been awarded a Gold Standard for its work with volunteers.
The Investing in Volunteers accolade is a coveted quality standard for good practice.
To gain the award, the service was scored by an external assessor using nine criteria and staff and volunteers were interviewed.
Penny Green, volunteer co-ordinator for Bradford Museums and Galleries, said: "I am absolutely delighted we have received this award, which recognises that the way we work with volunteers is mutually beneficial.
"People with skills, energy and interests help us with all sorts of activities, and we see that volunteers really benefit in return.
"We will continue to work hard to maintain best practice and develop new, creative ways of working."
