A KEIGHLEY gym is flexing its muscles in the bodybuilding world.

Nick Hindle, who co-owns NRGym with Rousel Chowdhury, was fourth in a UK Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation event in Leeds.

Competing in only his second show, he was up against a 25-strong line-up.

Two members at the Worth Way gym have also shone in competitions.

Richard Grattan has earned an invitation to take part in the Natural Physique Association world finals in Italy next summer.

And Rebecca Croft – one of a growing number of women using the NRGym facilities – is through to national finals after competing in her first ever show, taking second place in the National Amateur Body-Builders Association toned-figure class.

Mr Hindle said female membership of the gym had soared from five per cent when the premises opened two years ago to about 35 per cent, and was continuing to rise.

"One of our aims was to open-up weight training to females to dismiss the stereotypical images portrayed that women become masculine when using weights," he added.

"As a result of Rebecca's success, we now have four more female hopefuls wishing to compete next year."
