Cullingworth Primary School children have produced a wonderful exhibition to commemorate the centenary of the First World War, and invite residents to view their work today from 2pm to 3pm. Derek Goff, chairman of the Village History Group, said the exhibition is well worth a visit.

Cullingworth Methodist Church held a First World War centenary evening on Saturday, when the West Yorkshire Brass Band entertained with music from the era. Members and friends dressed for the occasion in period costume and enjoyed a meal and old-fashioned sing-a-long.

Cullingworth Village Council’s annual awards evening takes place at Parkside School tomorrow at 6.30pm. Cullingworth Primary School choir and students from Parkside will take part. Gardening and community awards will be presented along with the Jane Breen Award for young people. Villagers are invited to go along and support the event.

Harden and District WI holds a crafts, coffee and cakes morning on Saturday in the family room of St Saviour’s Church, Harden, 10am to noon. Handmade crafts for Christmas and cakes will be on sale. Admission is £1, including coffee and biscuits.

The new library link at the Methodist Church in Cullingworth, in conjunction with Bradford Library Service, is open every Saturday from 10am to noon. Further opening hours will be announced in the New Year. There will be between 1,000 and 2,000 books, and the stock will consist of both adult and children’s fiction and non-fiction.

St Matthew’s Church in Wilsden will hold Christmas fair on Saturday from 11am to 2pm, with an exhibition of decorations depicting a carol or song. Lunches will be available.

Cullingworth Conservative Club welcomes Michael Langton on Saturday evening. He is a big favourite at the club and an outstanding vocal entertainer.

St John’s Church in Cullingworth will be holding its annual toy service on Sunday at 10am.

Worth Valley Craft Fair takes place at Cullingworth Village Hall on Sunday, from 10am to 3pm. Refreshments will be available. Free entry. Donations to Manorlands.

Come and have breakfast with Santa at Cullingworth Methodist Church on December 6, from 9.30am to noon. Stalls available.

The joint Anglican and Methodist Remembrance Service held at St John’s Church in Cullingworth collected £370 for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. The Methodist Church coffee morning and First World War exhibition raised a further £180 for the appeal.

Bingley Rural Children’s Centre has organised activities for young children at Cullingworth Methodist Church on Thursdays, 1.30pm to 2.15pm. The Boogie Tots is a lively music session designed to give little ones the chance to build confidence, balance, co-ordination and communication skills, while making new friends and having fun. In conjunction with our local medical practice, two weekly walking groups meet in our villages. The Cullingworth group meets at the Methodist Church, Dellside Fold, today at 9.15am.
