RIDDLESDEN Cricket Club is staging a bonfire event to stump up cash to see it through the winter.
Proceeds will also help with the club's proposed launch of a junior team.
The bonfire is at the cricket ground, off Grange Road, this Saturday (Nov 1), starting at 6.30pm.
A 'Mr & Mrs Guy Fawkes', produced for the event by pupils at Riddlesden St Mary's Primary School, is currently on display at the village Co-op.
The store provided prizes for the school guy competition and will also be home on Saturday to a sale of raffle tickets and cakes by cricket club members in advance of the evening event.
The raffle will be drawn at the bonfire, where there will be Hallowe'en fancy dress, food and fireworks.
"This has been a great example of the community working together," said club committee member Marie McCool.
"We are extremely grateful for the support of both the school and the Co-op.
"It costs about £1,000 just to keep the club going through the winter and next year we are hoping to start a junior team, which would most likely include children from the school."
