TWO Keighley brothers used their creative skills to describe their experience of a summer camp.

Tyler Humphrey, 13, and 12-year-old sibling Connor were among nineteen young Incommunities tenants from across the district who took part in the West Yorkshire Police camp.

And the youngsters gathered post-event at the social housing group's base at The Quays, Shipley, to express their views using painting or drawing.

They also enjoyed a disco, played football and had a pizza lunch.

The event was staged by Incommunities staff, supported by representatives from Bradford College and the police.

Connor said: "It was great fun meeting up and being creative – we can’t wait to meet everyone again."

Helen Gibson, director of Incommunities neighbourhood services, said the housing group was keen to develop closer links with its younger tenants.

"We want to hear about their experiences and issues that affect them," she added.

"The creative day was fabulous."

Contributions by the young people will form part of a display in the reception area at The Quays.

Any tenants aged eight to 15 interested in taking part in future youth events should contact Tracy Tough on 01274 257755 or text 07837 999207.

Forthcoming activities include a Hallowe'en and Bonfire Night-themed event.
