MEMBERS of the Indian community in Keighley promise a ‘tropical treat’ during their first festival.

Keighley Mayalee Association will host the Kerali Art and Food Festival at Central Hall on October 11.

Keli 2014 will feature an exhibition, a colourful portrayal of of South Indian culture, and traditional Kerali cuisine.

The event will run at the Alice Street community centre from 10am until late.

Central Hall spokesman Shaun O’Hare said: “The association has a very genuine desire to embed themselves in community life and develop relations with other groups and individuals.”

Everyone is welcome at the free event, which is funded by the Community First Fund for Keighley Central ward.
