KEIGHLEY-based GEM Compliance Training has forged a new partnership to boost safety in the workplace.

It has joined forces with City Training Services (CTS) to provide accredited first aid tuition.

The initiative aims to improve safety and equip workers with lifesaving skills, should they need them, to help colleagues and clients.

Gavin Milligan, company director at GEM Compliance Training, said: "First aid is a very important issue in the workplace and yet far too many people lack even the basic skills to help their colleagues in an emergency situation.

"By taking the lead on this, we hope to play an important part in promoting first aid safety.

"This is an extremely exciting time for us. We're a relatively new company, but teaming up with such a well-established partner as CTS clearly enhances our offering and our delivery of courses."

Johnny Valentine, of CTS, welcomed the partnership.

"We identified first aid as a gap in the courses we offer and were impressed by GEM's knowledge and experience in this area," he said.

The courses will be based at CTS' conference centre in Little Germany, Bradford.
